News Desk: Facebook users will be embarrassed when they will find the deleted pictures still present on the social networking site. Even the photos can be accessed by anyone with a direct link to the images.

The users usually delete the photos from their profile finding them inappropriate. However, those are still present on the internet three years after the removal of images.

Facebook admitted that its systems do not always delete the images in a reasonable period of time. The deleted photos would not be visible if logged in at self id, but will remain visible to anyone with a direct URL link to picture. It suggests that if a photo has been shared by an email, the image will remain present on the site and it would be visible if someone clicks on the link.

The report appears as a shocking to users, who have removed embarrassing photos of office parties or nights out. However, Facebook has promised to sort it out the problems and the deleted images would not be visible to anyone. It said that an upcoming system update will fix the problem soon.

Technology site Ars Technica said that a picture of a naked toddle was removed in 2008, but it was still present on the internet as of February 2012. It alleged that Facebook repeatedly has been promising to fix the problems with the systems it removes photos. However, the images are still on the site after the deletion.

The issue came after Facebook faced criticism for its new 'Timeline' profile page that gives users seven days to remove pictures and posts they don’t like.

The users reacted strongly saying they don’t want a timeline on Facebook. They questioned, why does Facebook force them to do so?
